The house was great. It fits 4 people easily and each bedroom has a separate bathroom. Kitchen is a bit outdated but is functional and good enough for a week or two stay. We enjoyed the back porch which is feet away and above the water. During sunset, the waves were reaching the steps leading to the beach and there is a great spot where you can sit and enjoy the sunset. The house is looking west, so the sunset is right out back. The bedrooms have AC units which come in handy if humidity gets bad, but other than that, there is plenty of air. The house has no glass windows, so is really open (it has metal shades that lock down to close the window openings). Manfred was very helpful and was available via phone 24/7. He even called the day before our flights to see when we were arriving. We had rented a car as the place is 20-25 minutes away from the airport and wanted to explore the island, but there is public transportation which we never got to use. However, the house is very close to the street and is 5-10 min walk away from a large grocery store that has everything you may need. We also did scuba diving in the waters behind the house. The beach has many corals everywhere so entry could be difficult, but once you are in (enter from 30-40 yards to the left or right) you can swim over some really cool coral reefs. You can also rent jet skis and boats from a nearby place. I have two suggestions: There are too many bushes/tall plants behind the house, which hide the great ocean view. If these are trimmed down, it will open up the entire view. The house is also difficult to find the first time around. Maybe a well visible sign right on the street will be helpful. The driveway to the house is rather narrow and can be easily missed.

We have just returned from two weeks at Hummingbird Cottage if you want a peaceful holiday with easy access to great beaches and local amenities this one is for you. The beaches are a short walk away past local houses and the local school.Everyone was very friendly and said hello as we passed. The beach at Alleynes Bay is the closest and has the local fish market and fresh fruit and vegetables for sale. If you continue past this beach you can access Reeds bay past the Church. We thought this bay was the best we saw , very few people ,safe bathing and natural shade. We visited the beach at Sandy Lane and far preferred Reeds. The cottage is readily accessible for Hole Town and Speightstown, we hired a car and both were a five minute drive. There are many buses that will take you there if you do not have a car. The cottage itself is like a home away from home, it has everything you need for self catering and we found it so comfortable we hardly went out in th evenings but bought fresh fish and local beer and watched the fireflies as the sun went down. In the morning the bird life is abundant and the Hummingbirds are so pretty. We would really recommend this rental.
We had a warm welcome by Stacy and was showed around. Blue Waters Cottage was what was expected inside. From Lincoln, RI · November 2015
My Mom and I had a GREAT stay at Sea Eagle! It was just the vacation that we had in mind - right on the beach, went to bed with the sound of the waves, and walking distance to to some restaurants and a grocery store. The house is tucked away just enough to not feel like you are in the center of touristville but walking distance (along the beach) to a hotel that offers many outdoor water adventure activities. Manfred was also an outstanding host. He met us at the house when we arrive, showed us around, introduced us to the neighborhood and made himself very available if we were to have any questions. I would recommend this house to anyone who is traveling to Barbados!
Sea Eagle is a great place right on the beach. Big porch at back of house. Supermarket down the street. Holetown is a 5 minute bus ride away. Great place to watch beautiful sunsets while you eat dinner or have drinks. Manfred is a great host, very helpful. Really nice place. Would stay there again.
Thanks for your visit dear Andre, you are always welcome. Hope to see you and your friends again! sunny regards Manfred
Manfred's home Mahi-Mahi on the beach in Paynes Bay was an ideal getaway for a week. My girlfriend and I found the home comfortable and spacious, fully furnished, artfully decorated, and -- best of all -- only several steps from one of the best beaches in Barbados. Several outstanding restaurants are nearby as well. Although we rented a car -- and I would recommend a small one if you want one at all -- buses and taxis pass frequently at the end of a narrow lane that leads to the house and the beach. We were delighted with the home
Manfred was fantastic right from the start. He communicated well and answered all our questions before we travelled. Upon arrival he was efficient and friendly and again made sure we were comfortable with the property. Mahi-Mahi had everything we needed to enjoy our holiday. The villa is nestled on one of the best beaches on Barbados. It's lively and lots to see and do right from your front door. This property is all about the location. The next door neighbour across from you as well is warm and friendly. All in all we had a great holiday here, you cannot beat the view from your deck.
We had a very pleasant stay at Hummingbird and Manfred was a perfect host. He helped us with laundry service and made sure that we had a good stay.

THIS IS A lovely little villa right on Payne’s Bay Beach. The living room décor is very tasteful and attractive. Being right on the beach is also great, with lounge chairs and umbrella provided. Especially enjoyable was the porch facing the beach where we ate and had drinks daily; basically there’s no wall between the porch and the living room. The bedrooms are equipped with air conditioners for comfort in sleeping. The beds also have netting if you prefer natural air. It is an open air living space, the windows only having louvered shutters. But bugs usually don’t fly in, it’s amazing. There are locks on the outside doors, garden door and parking gate, and a locking grille over the French doors. Use them. THE BATHROOMS had some corrosion on the fixtures, I’m sure from the water, but all the plumbing worked fine. The owner said he was working on improving the baths. The kitchen has a gas stove and various countertop appliances. A variety of spices were provided for cooking too. WE PAID about $30 for our week’s electricity usage by running the AC only when sleeping. Breezes were generally very pleasant throughout the apt. DO NOT RENT a large vehicle if you stay here. We had a compact and were barely able to get the car in and out of the very narrow driveway and parking space. The buses run regularly but we imagine it could take a long time to get places on them, especially if you want to go sightseeing in the interior of the island as we did. Don’t forget they drive on the LEFT! A SUPERB oceanfront restaurant, Daphne’s, is less than 10 minutes away on foot. We highly recommend it. The west coast area is filled with restaurants, and there is a grocery store a five-minute drive away in Holetown. The Mahi Mahi is between a public access walkway to the beach and a business hawking their beach options—jet skis, boat rides, lounge chairs, etc.; many of their chairs and dinghies were in front of the Mahi Mahi fence. Men sit around there not doing much and wait for business, talking and playing board games in the meantime. Barbadians are generally loud and the area is congested, so beware the noise level, which is high throughout the daylight hours. THE OWNER Manfred was very responsive and easy to work with. We found the Mahi Mahi to be a good value for that area of Barbados, which is full of high-end hotels and fancy restaurants, so go and enjoy it!

The cottage Blue-Waters is just as described, well equipped. The location is perfect: the sea is only 10 steps away. My husband & I were welcomed by Stacy on the day of our arrival, she explained how everything worked, and she showed us around. The neighbourhood is really safe, the bus stop is only few steps away. We had the pleasure to meet Manfred a couple of times, he's always been very helpful, he was also very kind to arrange our return taxi back to the airport. We really enjoyed our stay and we would recommend this place!
